Uncommon surprise gifts are one of the greatest compliments!…

While I celebrate “Thanksgiving” every day in my own way,  it’s always wonderful to celebrate with family and friends as well. Yesterday Michael and I had a wonderful celebration with a dear soul sister and her family, including 4 generations, from her 89 years old father to her 16 months old granddaughter. It was very special!

One of our sister’s friends was visiting, having arrived to Alaska the day before, after a journey of driving from Colorado. Michael knew him already but I met him for the first time. We ended up having wonderful conversations about all sorts. I so enjoy meeting like-hearted brothers and sisters!

Later that night as we were getting ready to leave with hugs of love and appreciation, this new friend suddenly told me he had a gift for me and went downstairs. Surprised and intrigued, we waited for his return.

Imagine my delightful and absolute surprise, when he handed me a bag containing a beautiful big chunk of the sacred chaga mushroom, freshly harvested from an Alaskan forest! I was stunned and felt so honoured by this unexpected gift!

What made this even more significant to me is that we hadn’t talked about mushrooms, or medicinal plants in our conversations. However, the chaga mushroom had recently been introducing itself to me “out of the blue” through others (including during a Skype “date” with a soul sister, Shakaya, who was drinking a cup of chaga tea, and during my volunteer work at BirdTLC in an unexpected conversation with another volunteer). To now see it suddenly appear in its physical form through this new friend – both Michael and I were in awe! I so love how magickal life is.

I regularly receive uncommon surprise gifts and each one is so sacred to me, for they truly honour my spirit, no matter how “strange” the gifters’ minds might think the gift is at times – their hearts know. I absolutely love to give those types of gifts as well – I experience as much exuberant joy in giving as receiving them!

Uncommon, unusual gifts are such a wonderful way to honour and celebrate each other’s unique, beautiful spirits, as well as a wonderful indication of how true we are to living and being our unique divine essence. To me, they feel like “Namaste” gifts, heart to heart, and each one is a blessing.

With great love and wonder-filled spirit,

Signature lucille
