Dragons have much to teach us…

Like so many other animals considered to be solely mythical, dragons are usually dismissed to the realm of “fantasy”. Most of us are familiar with dragons through story books, movies, images and legends.

Very few people however, will consider that they actually exist, and even less will acknowledge that they do.

So much of the realm of Nature has been dissected into parts, de-sanctified, destroyed and reduced to “things” by  modern society. This has caused far-reaching, unfortunate repercussions that we now see throughout our world.

As soon as people started to believe that their deeper connection with the various beings of Nature, including Mother Earth, was something unacceptable by the standards of conquerors and rulers… a shift occurred. It gave permission to people who didn’t live from the heart, to treat Nature as a product to pillage or as an enemy to control or destroy by any means. For many, it also became something to fear.

I feel that in this day and age, as stewards of this sacred planet, we have just as much to unlearn as we do to learn (or remember).

Dragon has been appearing to me every day for the past week in various forms – from natural tree and cloud formations, to images and a toy left on the mailbox. I’m well acquainted with this powerful animal.

While I’ve never encountered a dragon in its physical form, I have encountered it in other dimensions when I do shamanic journeys, meditations or have done power animal retrievals for people (without any mind-altering substances). It’s no different than my personal experiences with archangels, ascended masters, spirit guides and star beings that I’ve encountered in other dimensions but have never seen in physical form.

Most people of modern society have been taught that if you can’t see or touch something, it doesn’t exist. This is unfortunate, for we have so many sources of support available to us when we open our hearts and minds to their existence. As children we know this, and then we’re taught that it’s all just our imagination.

Dragon is one of the most powerful guardians. It embodies the forces of strength, wisdom and spiritual power and is featured in the legends and belief systems of countless different cultures.

I always feel it’s a blessing and honour to be in the presence of such magnificent beings.

More and more, we’re being invited to expand our minds and open our hearts to the knowledge and wisdom that we’ve lost, for the benefit of our world.

It doesn’t hurt anyone to communicate with Nature beings, or to believe or know that so-called “fantastical” beings exist. If anything, it opens us up once again to the wonders and wisdom of our multi-dimensional worlds and natures, so that we can remember and experience our own truth.

What Nature or mystical being have you encountered that you feel is a guide or guardian in your life, but you’ve been hesitant to accept it for what it is?

With love and wonder-filled spirit,
