♥ MIRACLE OF THE DAY ♥

Metamorphosis… common for insects, it also allows us to shed what no longer serves us to become who we truly are…

Most insects undergo several types of metamorphosis as they evolve through the stages of growth to reach adulthood.

I’ve always marvelled at every type of metamorphosis, from simple (the insect simply sheds its outgrown skins as it grows larger and larger – such as beetles) to complete (the insect completely changes forms throughout its growth stage – such as butterflies).

Yesterday evening as I communed with Nature, sitting on the ground watching the sun set behind storm clouds, I suddenly noticed what I’m featuring in today’s photograph… the shed exoskeleton of a grasshopper! It is so intricate in detail, it’s like a perfect little grasshopper suit that was removed and left in the grass! You can even see its eyes and antennae. I can’t help but smile when I look at it. It inspired me to write today’s post.

Throughout life, we also go through many symbolic stages of metamorphosis as we become more who we truly are.

We recognize and shed all the “stuff” we’ve taken on throughout the years from external sources that don’t belong to us. It’s a natural process, and although it can be messy at times, the rewards are well worth it!

The insects show us the priceless value of undergoing metamorphosis, each in our unique way… ♥
