Hiking along the beautiful lava coast at Pu'uhonua o Honaunau, I marvelled at how much plant life has not only sprouted, but is thriving on the hard lava stone...! The diversity of vegetation and colours against the black lava is truly spectacular... as are the butterflies that visited the flowers. Woke up just before 4am... and the Full Moon is shining so bright through my lanai glass/screen doors... wow is it ever glorious!!! The photo really doesn't do it justice!... A delightful surprise blew in with the wind this morning as I was journalling...! I was quietly writing when I heard a rustling noise on the lanai... as I looked up I noticed a joyfully dancing seed in the breeze that suddenly flew up and stuck against the screen door!... I've always loved the sunrise and sunset... It was so wonderful to land on the Big Island just on time to witness a glorious sunset from the location where we deplaned... what incredible timing! It's so easy to overlook things in our environment that we get used to seeing. We might see the same species of birds, mammals or trees and not really notice them anymore since they're no longer a novelty... It's just soooo incredible and wonder-full to be able to experience a cold, snowy, bare-tree landscape in the morning, and by evening to experience a hot, colourful landscape filled with singing birds and frogs! No photo could possibly convey the amazing-ness of yesterday's PERFECT moving day!... or my great appreciation to all who are supporting this new journey on my path... human and non! On this glorious New Moon, I went for a sunset hike in the still snowbound trails...
