Stewardship ~ Philanthropy

Being a “higher awareness” steward of the Sacred,
has been my way of life since my teen years (3+ decades).

As human beings, we are Nature as much as Spirit,
and our well-being (on all levels!) depends on

the harmonious co-existence with
and wise stewardship of,
healthy and diverse natural ecosystems,
made up of a vast biodiversity of life and elements
worldwide (we’re all interconnected).

Every choice that we make in our everyday life, either benefits many beyond just ourselves in this world, or does the opposite. We each have so much power in our choices and actions, and this is part of our human responsibility as conscious co-creators and divinely aware, mature and wise stewards.

Aside from my everyday choices centered in this higher awareness, I’ve also been supporting non-profit, environmentally-focused and humanitarian organizations, that are aligned with my values, for over three decades. This has included generously donating money and time to several dozen different environmental foundations, as well as volunteer work in Canada, Costa Rica, Alaska and California.

I currently provide consistent financial support
to many environmentally-focused but
all-life benefiting organizations,
in several, diverse ways
which you also contribute to when you support my work,
directly or indirectly (Thank You!).
Just a few differing examples below,
to inspire and empower you
with your own stewardship-related sacred possibilities…

CNPSI’ve been supporting the California Native Plant Society since 2019 as a “Perennial Member” (monthly donour). This amazing non-profit has become one of the foremost native plant organizations in the world—bringing together science, First Nations knowledge, education, gardening, conservation, stewardship, and advocacy for well-informed and environmentally-friendly policies, regulations, and land management practices. “CNPS” was born in 1965, when a group of visionary nature lovers, gardeners and plant experts of a rapidly growing California, came together for a common cause and quickly realized that this state’s diverse flora and unique ecosystems needed a voice, in order to be preserved for future generations. California is known as one of the world’s “Biodiversity Hotspots”, representing one-third of the United State’s plants (6,500+ species of native plants, with 2,428 rare species, and 1,355 found only in California; home to the largest tree species—Giant Sequoia, tallest tree species—Coast Redwood, and oldest ancient tree species—Great Basin Bristlecone Pine of 5,000+ years!). California’s flora in turn supports an incredibly vast diversity of ecosystems, including so many species of wildlife (such as priceless pollinators like the state’s 1,600+ species of native bees)! My own experience-based knowledge, gained from personal observation throughout my life, as well as more intimately with my native prairie plant gardens (in my urban backyard from 2003-2011, in MB, Canada, which became my first book “Mending Mother Earth With Native Plants”), taught me firsthand how invaluable our native plants are in their original habitats, to the interconnected existence and well-being of our Divinely-created, sacred world—whichever ecosystems we live in!

Through Sacred Earth Connection®, Eden Reforestation Projects has received support 2017-2022, in the form of annual donations. Those funds have done sooo much more than just plant trees, through this amazing organization established in 2005 by Dr. Stephen Fitch, using his uniquely innovative and highly successful “Employ to Plant” methodology. It has addressed the link between deforestation and extreme poverty in impoverished communities of ten developing countries, providing a sustainable solution that highly benefits countless lives and life forms (human as well as Nature), by paying fair wages to community members to plant and protect trees—restoring forest ecosystems while also promoting responsible long-term stewardship and personal empowerment. I’ve personally observed how just one tree (of any species), is an entire ecosystem itself, providing food and shelter for countless species of life (underground as well as above ground); creating and purifying the air we breathe; preventing erosion; and also freely providing wisdom, healing and relationship for our hearts, minds, bodies & souls, when we connect through love and appreciation. Together as forests, trees also revive deforested environments, promoting and supporting beautiful life and the sacred balance, while minimizing the effects of extreme weather and potentially disastrous natural phenomena. A total of 16,000 trees have been planted through Sacred Earth Connection and a 1-billion-trees milestone was reached by Eden in 2022! (*NOTE: Due to significant changes occurring in this organization in 2022-2023, including the early retirement of the founder, I chose to end this partnership in 2023, and we’ll see how things unfold as the world changes…)

Life is full of opportunities every day,
for us to take a stand for what we value as sacred!

Below is just one
of countless examples in my own life…

This very practical opportunity presented itself
when my husband Michael and I moved from Alaska
to his native California in 2018,
and we were overjoyed for this additional opportunity!

Special Yosemite National Park California license plate

By simply choosing to purchase a special-interest license plate,
we’re able to contribute even more every year
to a cause that is dear to our hearts.

This is a very well known park in California,
that is very special to us
(where we met in person in 2014 for an “epic date” of two weeks)!

It protects beautiful groves of rare Giant Sequoia trees,
along with vast wilderness of awe-inspiring beauty.
It’s one of countless Divinely-created Nature treasures on Mother Earth,
and visited by millions of people every year.

Below are two photographs of my car displaying this special license plate:
2020 parked in the land of rare Giant Sequoias,
2022 parked in the land of rare, ancient Great Basin Bristlecone Pines,
both in the Sierra Nevada mountains of eastern California.
