What a spectacular lizard the MO'O is!!!... and the way they observe and look at you with those turquoise-rimmed eyes is so endearing!... How fun it must have been to create such a delightfully colourful little being!... I doubt that anyone can look at these little lizards and not smile - their colours exude joy!... ♥ With love and wonder-filled spirit, … [Read more...]
♥ MIRACLE OF THE DAY ♥
It's always such a blessing to encounter these beautiful, docile beings of the ocean!... This one was sunning herself and resting on the warm lava stones of Hawaii, fully being in the moment... while others were floating like little islands in the shallow water near the shore, feeding peacefully, occasionally poking their heads out of the water to take in another breath... making eye contact... Having voluteered 11 years ago for 3 months in Costa Rica on the Pacific side, for PRETOMA … [Read more...]

I'm always fascinated by how well many animals blend in perfectly with their surroundings!... It's only when they move that we suddenly see that tree bark, stone, coral, moss, branch, leaf, flower, etc... come to life into a completely different life form than we previously perceived! I felt so privileged to see this beautiful, small Black-Crowned Night Heron calmly fishing in a "royal pond" late afternoon (not at night or early morning as is its usual behavior!). It saw me but kept … [Read more...]

A courageous little bird brought me to tears today... After leisurely enjoying the sights, sounds, aromas and textures of Pu'uhonua O Honaunau, I felt guided to spend some quiet time at the picnic area a short walk away by the ocean... Amazingly, for a Friday late afternoon and evening, the space was vacant! It felt like such a sacred space between two giant trees overlooking lava stones and the endless ocean!... Then I knew I was right where I was supposed to be when a beautiful … [Read more...]

Another gloriously awe-inspiring sunset over the ocean, seen from Home Heart Hawaii last night on Mauna Loa!... I'm always so fascinated by how high up I am here!... When I see an airplane flying in the sky at eye level to me or lower (!), I realize all over again that I'm as much on Mother Earth as I am immersed in Father Sky!... Mountainous vantage points are quite magickal!... ❤ ***ENJOY tomorrow's powerful New Moon and Solar Eclipse!!!*** With love and wonder-filled … [Read more...]

WOW!... my feet are back on Mother Earth after a GLORIOUS swim with a gentle pod of 20 beautiful, wild Spinner Dolphins on Sunday off the coast of Hawaii, with Soul Family Eva and Lee. Eva captured the magnificent photo I'm sharing with you!... It's impossible to describe such experiences in words - they are experiences of the HEART... I was so touched by the pod when I first arrived to where they were swimming below in the deeper clear waters, and they all surfaced beside me and swam … [Read more...]

There's always so many to choose from!... but the one I chose to feature today is so fun to share for its particular qualities... Intricate air bubbles captured permanently in hard lava stone, and radiant sunset colours captured in a delicate Plumeria blossom... what delightfully Divine works of art!... ♥ With love and wonder-filled spirit, … [Read more...]

During another wonder-filled hike, I found a peacock feather on my path (and this wasn't a typical path... we were creating our own path)! I was informed by my dear companions that I'm the first to find a peacock feather on this acreage of land since they've lived in this area (nearing 2 years)!... Then... I later found in my inbox an e-newsletter that I rarely receive, titled "Being the change, embracing transformation and peacock medicine!" which was sent around the same time I found … [Read more...]

Hiking along the beautiful lava coast at Pu'uhonua o Honaunau, I marvelled at how much plant life has not only sprouted, but is thriving on the hard lava stone...! The diversity of vegetation and colours against the black lava is truly spectacular... as are the butterflies that visited the flowers. I was so surprised and delighted to see a graceful Monarch butterfly glide around us - a species I'm familiar with in Canada that is very special to me. I had no idea that it also flourishes in … [Read more...]
