When we look at the ancient science of astrology, we clearly see that we are all different from each other and not meant to “fit in” – at all. We were in fact, divinely designed this way with purpose.
We are meant to stand out in the way that only we can – with our unique skills, talents, experiences, perspectives, gifts, characteristics, personalities, zones of genius and quirks!
One of my favourite quotes from Albert Einstein is the following:
“Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.”
It really says it all.
I remember being in school and wondering why the learning system was created the way it was. It didn’t make sense to me, since our level of intelligence was judged by the final mark of the year-end exam in each subject you had to take (this applied to grade school and university).
It didn’t matter if your teacher was terrible, or if your way of learning was different than the others, or if you didn’t resonate with a mandatory subject. At the end of it all, your mark dictated your “level” of intelligence.
The best thing happened to me at the end of my second year of university. I completely failed, yet again, all my numerical sciences, while so many of my classmates passed with A grades and they found it so easy! I had to make a decision.
I saw a university councilor and did aptitude tests. The results clearly showed us that my way of thinking was not linear, but what he referred to as “spacial”. He recommended that I go into fine arts, which I did for one year.
This ended up being a breakthrough point for me. I had THE best academic year of my life – it was so easy and enjoyable for me AND I even received A marks!
I realized that I wasn’t “stupid” after all – my genius was simply not with numbers. It felt so liberating to realize this. I felt that my path did not require me to pursue university courses, and so it had now served its purpose. That one lesson was invaluable to me.
I wondered how many other people in the world are made to feel “stupid” every day, by someone else’s standard, not realizing that they have their own zone of genius that simply hasn’t been recognized yet.
My passions had always been Nature, the mystical and the creative arts including writing. I had no idea how it would all come together one day, but by following my heart, it has.
Our true zones of genius can’t even be measured.
We simply are who we are, and what comes naturally to us, is extraordinary to another.
When we embrace and value our divinely given, unique genius (regardless what it looks like!), we naturally live our purpose. And everyone benefits – directly (through products and/or services) or indirectly (through energy).
What comes so naturally to you that you dismiss it as “nothing” and it beckons you to stand out from the rest?
