When caterpillars are ready to evolve to their next stage (the butterfly chrysallis or moth cocoon), they have a persistent drive to find the perfect location to transform.
When I created an urban garden of native prairie plants that appealed to many species of butterflies, I saw firsthand that caterpillars will crawl incredible distances in that search! It was amazing to see.
Many times they end up where it suddenly seems like a “dead end”, but they persevere. From our own greater perspective, we can see that the caterpillar has a much larger field to play with and endless possibilities – they’re not at a “dead end”…
On our journeys, our most challenging experiences call us to pause and expand our way of thinking, feeling, seeing – all our senses.
This greater perspective allows us to navigate even the biggest storms we might face, with greater clarity and grace.
Every challenge is an opportunity for growth. We get to choose what to do with it… we always have the freedom of choice… ✿
