When we’re faced with what seems like adversity, it can be difficult to see any possible gifts within the situation!
We feel like we’ve been catapulted outside of our comfort or security zones and we have no idea what the outcome will look like.
It can test us on all levels and make us question everything.
It’s not easy to recognize that within the chaos, there is a reward – or many. What a reward looks like is unique to each of us, depending on our personal path.
We all have specific lessons to learn and experience to gain, so when things don’t appear to be for our benefit, having this greater perspective allows us to trust that everything is exactly as it requires to be for us.
We might not logically understand why we’re going through a certain challenge at the time, but the reason always reveals itself sooner or later.
Sometimes it’s only once the adverse situation is behind us and we can now look back, that we’re able to recognize the rewards it has brought to us. Sometimes it can take years before we gain the level of awareness that understands the reward of certain experiences.
We can better accept the sudden changes and challenges, and persevere through them, when we have that greater perspective.
Change and chaos are a natural part of life.
In Nature, everything is continuously changing – every day is unique. Chaos also has its sacred role. It is found as the liquid within a chrysalis that transforms from a caterpillar to a butterfly; as storms that help tree saplings grow strong, resilient roots; as wild fires that clear prairies of brush and invasive plants so new growth can thrive; as cells that multiply and change forms to create and birth new beings; natural (and man made) disasters that open our hearts on a global scale and remind us that we’re all family.
We can’t personally evolve, or know what we’re truly capable of, without change or challenges. They can affect us directly through personal experience, or indirectly by igniting something within us.
Challenges are the greatest catalysts for us to transform on multiple levels. They give us the opportunity to do so quickly. They’re like “boot camp” for us on all levels. We’re not the same after going through such experiences, as we were before it began.
I remember a mentor telling me at one point, that in just one year of experiencing a test of faith, I had learned and evolved on all levels, to what had taken her ten years to do! While this test of faith challenged me in every way possible, my determination to keep going provided incredible awareness about myself and life, that I couldn’t have gained without it. It forced me to open up in ways I wasn’t even aware was possible, so that I could access the gifts that were waiting to reveal themselves.
Those situations enable you to become a greater expression of yourself, aligned with your divine essence (if you’re willing), instead of remaining who you, or others, think you are. They’re like friction that polishes the diamond within and your spirit shines brighter for it.
You become more fully present to the situation, to the circumstance, to who you really are, and all you do comes from that awareness instead of from sources outside of yourself. You claim your personal power.
Trusting yourself is a gateway that gives you access to your higher wisdom, and nothing allows you to deepen that trust more than extreme situations!
As in Nature, what seems like adversity, promotes greater expressions of our divinity.
What is one experience that you can look back on, that felt challenging at the time, and you can now see the rewards of going through it?
