♥ MIRACLE OF THE DAY ♥

Fascinatingly rare and ‘weird’ wonders of our world…

While admiring multiple varieties of mushrooms in a particular trail, I was amazed to discover that an entire patch of the bordering forest was sheltering the most unusal flowers I have ever seen or heard of yet – at first glance they looked like mushrooms (since I saw the white ones first).

Known as the “ghost plant” or “Indian pipe”, it has no need for light to grow – it has no chlorophyll. It behaves like a mushroom, yet it’s a herbaceous perennial. It has evolved a very intricate relationship with underground fungus that derive nutrients from photosynthetic trees. They are quite rare.

As I looked at them with wonder, I realized that what makes them so beautiful is their “weirdness” – they are so unique. Unlike other  flowers, they grow in the darkness of the forest without vibrant colours or scent. Most are white but I found a cluster with pink hues. They’re so delicate and small and perfectly them.

If there’s any aspect of you that you don’t shine because you feel it’s “too weird” or unusual, I invite you to embrace it. It makes you who you are, and our world needs all of us. We were each created with specific traits, with a purpose.

I celebrate what makes each of us, human and non, a beauty that is incomparable with others… ♥

With love and wonder-filled spirit,
