Luna and Gaia’s intimate relationship…

Every few days and nights around and on a Full Moon, I feel the energy intensely…

Here on the celestial body of Mother Earth, we’re affected by all other celestial bodies, especially in our solar system.

We’re not an Earth “bubble” separate from everything else in our glorious universe… We’re all so connected and the most obvious example is closest to our home of Gaia…

Since the Moon began its orbit around Earth, these two have had an intimate relationship that affects many aspects of our world as we know it.

The most obvious effect of the Moon’s gravitational pull on Earth relates to water – on all levels… From Earth’s vastly liquid body to our own… It causes high and low tides (which are greater when the Sun aligns with the Moon). A lesser known tidal effect also occurs within our planet, as recorded by seismologists.

Worldwide research has also shown that the Moon affects our weather (including rainfall and moisture in the soil), plants and animal behavior. This includes humans. Anyone who works with the public on a regular basis, or is aware of his/her natural environment (external and internal), is familiar with the noticeable effects. Women’s menstrual cycles are naturally regulated by the Moon’s phases (when not affected by external factors).

The feeding and mating habits of many species of animals, especially aquatic species and amphibians such as frogs, are also coordinated with the Moon’s different phases, worldwide. When I volunteered in Costa Rica for 3 months, I observed that sea turtles came up on the beach to lay their egges in great numbers around a New Moon, and rarely around a Full Moon.

Since we’re all made up of mostly water, we all have this intimate connection with Luna!… ♥
