When you think you’ve seen it all… look again!…

It’s so easy to overlook things in our environment that we get used to seeing. We might see the same species of birds, mammals or trees and not really notice them anymore since they’re no longer a novelty…

I tend to do that in urban areas, but when I’m out in Nature, I always see things with wonder – as if seeing them for the first time. Even if I’ve seen Chickadees, Oaks, Clover, the Moon, the Sunset, or Stars thousands of times, I still delight in every one I see.

Having this perspective makes life SO interesting and rewarding! We never know when we might discover something completely new… It benefits us in all environments we might experience.

I woke up early this morning and felt called to exploring my new Nature surroundings where I’m currently staying on the Big Island. The ones who called my attention the loudest were… the flowers – especially the miniature variety that grow low on the ground! A delightful surprise!…

They probably go unnoticed by most, especially when growing near the bigger, showier blossoming trees and shrubs like the Hibiscus, Jacaranda and other colourful tropical varieties I’m not familiar with. I love walking bare feet on the ground, for it encourages mindful walking – you notice so much more!… and it feels great to the body.

I was truly amazed by the variety of diminutive flowers I discovered, most with the diameter of a pencil eraser or slightly bigger! Such beauties, just waiting to be noticed!

I decided to honour them by taking photos and sharing some with you here. Their energies are so lovely and they each display a unique beauty. I felt such joyful wonder in their presence!

I invite you to look at your environment with a new perspective and see what you might discover, or rediscover…

It’s amazing what might be just waiting for us to notice!…
